Ted Leland

Director of Athletics, University of the Pacific (Retired)

Ted attended University of the Pacific as an undergraduate and then went on to Stanford University to earn his doctorate degree. At Stanford, he started his career in college sports. He went on to hold coaching positions at Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, University of Houston, and Stanford. In 2006, Ted returned to Stockton to serve as Pacific’s Vice President for University Advancement. Not long after that, Ted became Vice President of External Relations, and finally, Director of Athletics. Ted retired in 2017.

Apart from his devotion to college sports, Ted has been very involved in the community by serving on nonprofit boards such as Sutter Central Valley Hospitals and Sutter Gould Medical Foundation, Stockton Unified School District – Measure C & Q Citizen Oversight Committee, USA Volleyball Foundation Board, National Advisory Board of Positive Coaching Alliance, Miracle Mile Improvement Association Board of Directors, and San Joaquin Partnership.
